Band 8a Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Emergency Care)The closing date is 14 December 2025You will work as an autonomous practitioner within the Emergency Department delivering all aspects of management and care to a wide range of patients with varying needs. The overriding purpose of the role is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.You will be expected to work at both Queen’s and the King George’s site on the Tier 2 rota (ST3/4 level).This post consists of an average of 37.5 hours per week. We offer 27 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.Main duties of the jobTo provide high quality clinical assessment, intervention, and treatment for a caseload of a variety of patients presenting to the Emergency Department.To work autonomously at an advanced clinical level in the direct delivery of high quality care, making critical clinical decisions based on thorough assessment, diagnostic interpretation, and therapeutic interventions.To demonstrate sound clinical decision‑making and deliver expert care for a wide variety of patients presenting to the Emergency Department with undifferentiated diagnoses.To work within the four pillars of the 'Multi‑professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice' through collaboration with clinical teams to meet patient needs; supporting the delivery and development of service, policy and procedures, and ensuring the maintenance of high quality care and clinical excellence.To provide clinical expertise, support, and leadership within the ACP, medical, nursing, and allied health teams.To support the corporate team in developing and delivering the Trust Advanced Practice strategy and vision.To contribute to the delivery of training and education within the Emergency Department and maintain personal professional development and competence.To take opportunities to lead or contribute toward research and audit in the pursuit of continued pathway toward clinical excellence.About usWe’re an organisation that is getting better and better, driven by a determination to deliver care we’re proud of and our patients are happy with.
