By joining us you don't just become part of our success story; you help shape the future and continue our rich legacy that started back in 1874.Join us as aLift Fitter – New InstallationsWe are currently recruiting for a Lift Fitter to join our team based out of our Addlestone Office in Surrey, covering the Southampton, Portsmouth, Jersey & Guernsey regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring & setting out lift/escalator installations in accordance with approved procedures. They will also comply with statutory regulations and organisational safety and ensure preparation of work area for installation activities and handing over and confirming completion of installation activities.What you’ll be doing:Installing lift / escalator Well and Ancillary Equipment in accordance with approved procedures by selecting appropriate tools and equipment based on the operations to be performed and the equipment to be installedInstalling Traction Equipment in accordance with approved procedures by selecting appropriate tools and equipment. Installation will require the siting assembly fitting alignment and adjustment of the lift / escalator equipmentInstalling Lift Ropes (traction media) and adjust in accordance with approved procedures. The applicant will be required to have install suspension safety and governor ropes to new or reconstructed lift equipmentInstallation of Lift Doors and Frames in accordance with approved procedures. The doors and frames to be installed include manual and power-operated solid sliding doors, multi-leaf doors, hinged doors, collapsible gates, shutter gates and bi-parting doors and shutters, door operators and safety devices for new or reconstructed lift equipmentChecking and Setting the Lift / escalator Installation in accordance with approved procedures. The checks to be carried out include the final checks and adjustments to the operation of lift / escalator installations prior to final test and commissioningCarrying out site surveysKeeping the supervisor informed regarding the progress of work hours spent and any non-complianceStaying in communication with the customer and the supervisor to ensure the satisfaction of the customer needsAttending all relevant training sessionsCarrying out all works in accordance with the Company’s Quality Corporate policyWorking in accordance with the Company’s Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements as well as setting a personal example of safe behaviourContributing to the Company safety objectives where necessary by maintaining / monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its safety management systemWhat we’re looking for:Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift / Escalator Installation or equivalentPossession of a relevant / valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cardMore advanced product and Installation knowledge / experienceProven fault finding and diagnostic skillsThe ability to work under pressure and to deadlinesThe ability to work independently with a flexible approachGood communication skills at different levels (Client / Installation Managers / SAIS Inspectors)Good punctualityManual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written informationFull UK driving LicenseWhy work for us:Generous Holiday allowanceCompetitive base salaryCompetitive PensionSingle Option Private HealthcareDiscounts & Benefits SchemeWhat’s in it for you:Join our purpose-driven organization.
