PROJECT MANAGER – AMP 8 Location - Cambridge A career development opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business in Cambridge. What you will be doing: As the Project Manager you will manage all aspects of project delivery from cradle to grave through the pre-construction, construction, commissioning and handover stages. Your ability to manage staff at varying levels, leadership experience, staff development and recruitment/retention of key personnel will be critical to the success of these high value projects. Managing multiple concurrent projects across the framework, you will develop/manage key relationships within Cambridge Water and Galliford Try Technical and Non-Technical teams to drive successful delivery against KPI’s and PI’s. Working closely with the Senior Project Managers and Delivery Managers you will assume responsibility for the financial performance of the portfolio of projects with overall responsibility for Profit/Loss on contracts under the Framework. This will include all project performance reports and participating in monthly financial / programme reviews for all schemes with the Commercial Manager, Head of Delivery and Senior Project Manager. You will take an active role in developing new opportunities within the Framework and take a support role in pre-construction tenders to ensure project delivery have input into the tender process. Other Responsibilities Include Outputs including programme, risk register, financial position, health and safety, environmental performance and progress updates for all allocated schemes You will need to have knowledge of NEC contract conditions and astute commercial awareness to be successful in this role Ensure that all projects are delivered in accordance with current Health & Safety regulations, including CDM regulations and environmental legislation Review and assess subcontractor RAMS Ensure project delivery in accordance with all relevant environmental legislation To ensure compliance with all company safety, environmental and quality systems Liaise with client’s staff to ensure KPI’s are met or exceeded within budget constraints Manage the project team ensuring each member has a clear set of objectives to follow and clear roles and responsibilities Assist the Regional Manager with the utilisation of the direct labour resources across the projects To ensure compliance with all company commercial and financial procedures Complete contract documentation Establishing and agreeing price variations and final accounts Prepare estimates and quotations & provide tender vetting for subcontracts To develop a detailed project programme, in conjunction with the project planner ensuring the programme is maintained to drive the project to key deliverable milestones Ascertain preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutions To closely liaise with other departments, such as tendering and design, to ensure resources are correctly allocated and client requirements are fully achieved Ability to interpret technical documents including drawings and specifications Co-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installations and construction teams Ensure that procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors is carried out in a timely manner and best value is achieved Attend internal and external review and progress meetings, and site visits/meetings Ensure all contract documentation such as, “As built” drawings, Commissioning Manuals and Operation and Maintenance Manuals are prepared in line with the client specifications and Galliford Try/client closeout timescales About You: An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent H&S qualifications (desirable) IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS) CSCS card Demonstrable experience working with NEC suite of contracts Demonstrable experience of working within the water industry Working knowledge of Microsoft packages Strong team player but also able to work as an individual Ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines Able to work in a busy environment under pressure Excellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face) Possess a “can do” attitude and provide to support to other members of the team as required Ability to review options and be comfortable to make the required decisions for the project success You will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes.
