Overview You will work and learn, earning a Level 2 Care Worker qualification, a Diploma in Health and Social Care and the Care Certificate over a 15‑month apprenticeship. You'll work 3 12‑hour shifts per week, with a learning day every second week, totalling 42 hours per week across the month. Cygnet Hospital Bierley provides acute and low‑secure mental health services for men and women across four wards, with a single‑sex specialist approach. The team delivers a trauma‑informed, service‑user‑focused care model and is committed to providing the best quality treatment and care possible. Responsibilities Offer enhanced care and support with a flexible, person‑centred approach for all the people in our care. Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support. Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way. Assist with and report on any medical and welfare needs. Ensure that the people in our care are kept safe from abuse, neglect and harm. Maintain a safe, clean environment for all the people in our care. Qualifications & Training You will earn a Level 2 Care Worker qualification, a Diploma in Health and Social Care and the Care Certificate over a 15‑month apprenticeship and you will be paid as you learn starting at £8.60 for your first year, rising to the National Minimum Wage for your age at month 12 (£10‑£12.21), with the opportunity to become a support worker once you have completed your fixed‑term apprenticeship (£12.85 per hour, £28,280 per year).
