This role provides the opportunity to complete the MEM31119 Certificate III in Engineering – Composites Trade while gaining practical experience in Circular Economy operations working with industry leaders.As an apprentice engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Enrol in and successfully complete all required training and assessments for the MEM31119 Certificate III in Engineering – Composites Trade. Progress through apprenticeship milestones within expected time‑frames.Support Circular Economy operations, including Green Ceramics production, operation of relevant plant and equipment, mattress shredding, warehouse operations, mechanical workshop activities, hot works, cold works and metal works, making safe damaged infrastructure and surfaces, repair of Council warehouse machinery and equipment if trained to do so.Comply with the Work Health and Safety Act and all Council procedures.Participate in all mandatory Council training, evaluations, and workplace learning activities.Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and internal stakeholders.About YouA genuine interest in the circular economy and hands‑on experience or aptitude for practical work in mechanical or workshop settings.Completion of Year 10.Knowledge and/or experience in mechanical workshop/lab environments and/or boiler making.Demonstrated ability to interact confidently and communicate clearly with people.Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organise work effectively.Ability to take direction and implement feedback on performance.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.Strong focus on Work Health and Safety.Class C Drivers Licence (provisional acceptable).Genuine willingness to learn and develop new skills.The salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience and competencies of the successful applicant.
