Graduate Teaching Associate / Lecturer in Psychology Location: High Wycombe, with travel to other campuses Contract Type: Permanent Full‑Time (37 hours per week) Salary: £33,951 – £37,697 (Graduate Teaching Associate) or £38,784 – £43,482 (Lecturer) per annum Closing Date: 9 January 2026 Reference No: 1921 Job Purpose The role supports teaching and learning by delivering modules in partnership with the Course Leader. Responsibilities include tutorial class teaching, personal tutorial support, feedback provision, assessment, marking, and dissertation supervision. The position requires a learner‑centred approach, a commitment to first‑class student experience, and inclusive practice. Main Duties & Responsibilities Act as main point of contact for tutorial class teaching for one or more courses. Demonstrate enhancement activities such as blended learning where appropriate. Collaborate with the Course Leader to design, prepare and deliver teaching materials and curriculum across appropriate media. Provide personal tutoring, support student recruitment and assessment, and offer guidance on academic work. Prepare standard materials, discuss tutorial topics, demonstrate techniques and equipment use, and prepare students for examinations. Mark assignments, essays and exams, providing effective feedback to support student improvement. Manage late submissions and coordinate with the Course Leader as needed. Contribute to the student experience through excellent customer service and participation in Open Days, partnership links and promotional work. Deliver pastoral care and project supervision for students. Engage in professional development activities (CPD, conferences) related to teaching and learning. Maintain the university’s reputation in practice partner settings and comply with legislative and other requirements (GDPR, Health & Safety, UKVI, Equality & Diversity). Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by the Dean or Associate Dean. Person Specification Education: First degree in a relevant field; masters degree (working towards) preferred; ongoing teaching qualification desirable. Knowledge & Experience: Adequate knowledge of Social Psychology or Forensic Psychology; specialist skills relevant to courses taught; excellent knowledge of MS Office. Skills: Clear oral and written communication with stakeholders; strong organisational and time‑management abilities; flexibility to respond to changing priorities; excellent people skills and relationship‑building capacity. Special Requirements: Willingness and ability to work in off‑site locations and contribute to University Open Days (possible Saturdays).
