Are you an energetic and dedicated person looking to play a key role in pupils’ academic and personal development while gaining classroom experience? GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join schools in Wakefield. This role is an excellent opportunity for those interested in teaching or education to step into the classroom and support students across a variety of subjects. Role Overview: As a CS, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons to pupils in the absence of their usual teacher. As a Cover Supervisor, you will: Supervise classes and deliver pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects. Maintain a positive and focused classroom environment. Support pupils to stay on task and achieve lesson objectives. Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies. Adapt quickly to different classrooms and age groups. Promote safeguarding and uphold pupil welfare at all times. Requirements for Cover Supervisor: Experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting. Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills. Confidence to lead groups and adapt to new environments. A passion for education and supporting pupils’ progress. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
