We are now looking for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our busy team at Heathrow Airport
As part of our continued development, we are recruiting professional and enthusiastic individuals to join our busy and dynamic GSE vehicle maintenance team. This full-time position is available immediately.
Vehicle Mechanic Duties:
Duties include being responsible for keeping the ground service equipment (GSE) fleet operational. The work involves dealing with breakdowns and repairs, also scheduled servicing and maintenance. Experienced candidates will be preferred. An awareness of health and safety and safe working practices is very important, although full training is provided.
Vehicle Mechanic Requirements:
Successful applicants will be required:
to provide checkable and reliable references (education and/or employment) for the last 5 years, and will be required to provide references to cover any gaps in employment.
must have a full UK driving licence (max 3 penalty points), have proof of the right to work in the UK, and will be required to complete a basic criminal record check (both UK and overseas).
willing and available to work a rotating shift pattern across a 7-day working week, with a mix of early and late shifts, so flexibility is essential.Requirements:
City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualification
Plant or heavy goods vehicle training
LGV UK driving licence an advantage
Experience of both diesel and electric vehicles, hydraulics and welding
Excellent diagnostic and repair skills
Experience of a busy workshopVehicle Mechanic Benefits:
Salary package comprises a package of basic salary plus shift pay equating £49,500, plus the potential for an attendance bonus. We also offer competitive pension and life assurance benefits. Overtime is available.
