Transport OperatorLocation: BathgateThe role is offered by Pollock Scotrans Ltd, a leading provider of logistics and transport services. You will join a dedicated team and be part of a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.Job DescriptionYou will work in the Bathgate depot supporting all aspects of transport administration and daily operations. Your key responsibilities will include planning, coordination, and communications with drivers, customers, and management.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Transport Manager in guiding the transport team to achieve peak performance across efficiency, profitability and service delivery.Take charge of daily transport operations, including dispatch, debriefs, and managing work in progress.Work closely with key customers to maintain seamless operations and build strong professional relationships.Lead driver debriefs, offer support, and ensure clear communication across the team.Maximise vehicle and staff utilisation by planning ahead and making strategic decisions.Provide regular updates to the Transport Manager, offering insights and suggestions for improvement.Monitor and audit safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.Handle queries confidently via email, phone and face‑to‑face interactions, acting as a key point of contact.Assist in producing KPI and daily operational statistics to monitor progress.Help plan and maintain compliance with company procedures and industry regulations.Provide direct assistance during vehicle breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption.Foster a positive, collaborative working environment by supporting colleagues and promoting teamwork.RequirementsPrevious experience in a transport environment, including knowledge of the Working Time Directive and EU driver's hours.Effective communication skills at all levels.Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.Critical attention to detail and ability to meet daily deadlines.Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Why Join Pollock Scotrans Ltd?Competitive salary: £33,990 per annum, working 48 hours per week.Hours: 18:00 – 06:00, Wednesday to Saturday.Monthly training courses across a variety of areas.Benefits: holiday purchasing scheme, retail discounts, wellbeing support and more.Career growth: opportunities for professional development within a growing business.Company benefits: excellent holiday allowance, life assurance, pension and sickness scheme.Extras: Christmas savings club, tyre discount, cycle‑to‑work scheme, free uniform and paid volunteer day.Strong culture of teamwork and collaboration.How to ApplyIf you want to be part of a flourishing and ambitious company, submit your application as soon as possible.
