Early Years Practitioner Wood St Nursery Are you looking for a dramatically different nursery where caring relationships and children's autonomy are valued over timetables and adult‑led activities? Our children love their time here and we are extremely sought after in the local area We are looking for an enthusiastic key person with a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in childcare and education. Your role will be to manage a group of key children, supporting their learning and development, building warm relationships with them and their families through conversation and play. You will be working as part of an experienced team to meet the needs of all children at all times. We offer: a fantastic place to work: we look after our staff, providing supervision and support and promoting a friendly and happy staff team Salary: £27,227 – £28,641 dependant on experience and responsibilities Daily lunch provided for staff Cycle to work scheme a 5‑minute walk from Wood St Station a fun and vibrant local area with excellent cafés and interesting shops in and around Wood Street opportunities for progression for exceptional practitioners as we expand our provision full time 40 hours per week, or 37.5 hrs per week pro rata if preferred. Compressed hours and part‑time 25.5+ hours are also considered. 5 weeks holiday + bank holidays, pension scheme paid time off for training and CPD, plus in‑house bi‑annual training days and weekly team meetings. You will need: to enjoy building warm relationships with children and believe in treating them with kindness and respect to have a strong understanding of the EYFS and how to promote children's learning and development to hold a full and relevant early years qualification at Level 3 to have experience in the key person role Wood St Nursery has robust safeguarding policies and processes in place. As an organisation, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, meaning that thorough pre‑employment checks will be conducted. We will seek references, and successful candidates will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check and join the Update Service. Additionally, online checks for publicly available information and inquiries with relevant statutory bodies will be carried out.
