The Principal Geotechnical Engineer will be working from their York office and working closely with discipline heads based in the other MHB offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Croydon. Responsibilities As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you will;Be responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical oversight for engineering projects.Have experience of some of the following structures - bridges, tunnels, stations & buildings and design using various materials, e.g. - concrete, steel, timber, masonry or FRP.Guide project teams, liaise with clients, and ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects on time and budget.Lead design and analysis on a range of infrastructure projects.Provide technical oversight and approval of geotechnical designs.Development of conceptual designs and producing engineering designs, drawings and reports in accordance with project requirements and ensure technical compliance.Geotechnical calculations and analysis using tools such as Slope W, Settle 3, CADS Pile Suite, PILE, ALP, Kubla Cubed, or similar.Checking of design documents, calculations and drawings completed by other engineers to ensure technical compliance.Oversee multidisciplinary teams and ensure project compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Manage project teams, ensuring deliverables are on time and within budget.Guide and mentor engineers, providing technical and managerial support.Oversee the financial management and profitability of projects.Attend meetings representing the team as well as representing the company in industry events and technical publications.Contribute to business development and secure new projects through client engagement and proposal writing.
