Exciting Opportunity for an Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant in KempstonJob Title: Teaching Assistant (ASC, PMLD & Complex Needs)Location: Kempston, Bedfordshire (MK42)Rate: £90 - £115 per day (dependent on experience) We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Kempston supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and associated behavioural challenges. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in SEND settings, mainstream schools, or SEND units who is confident supporting learners with a wide range of needs. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and group support for students with ASC, PMLD, and complex behavioural needs Assist in managing emotional regulation and support de-escalation where required Help students transition calmly between environments and activities throughout the school day Support personal care and mobility needs where necessary Work proactively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure every learner has access to an inclusive, supportive environment Key Requirements Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally ASC or PMLD Confidence using de-escalation strategies and a calm, patient approach under pressure Physically comfortable supporting learners who may require movement, personal care, or physical assistance A positive, energetic attitude and willingness to adapt throughout a busy school day Strong teamwork and communication skills If you are an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with complex needs, we would love to hear from you.
