Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia & Critical Care - Mountain MedicinePost for clinical fellows in Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Mountain medicine in Snowdonia, North WalesYsbyty Gwynedd Anaesthetic department is looking to recruit doctors in Anaesthesia and Critical care with an interest in mountain medicine to join our team of trainees, specialty doctors and other clinical fellows working on our resident/on call rotas.The jobs are one year posts aimed at supporting those already accepted onto, or undertaking, the Diploma of mountain medicine, or those hoping to undertake the diploma of mountain medicine who require further development of their climbing/navigation skills.All of the jobs would involve a mixture of work on a 1 in 8 on call rota with 10% time (approx 20 days/yr) allocated to developing their mountain medicine interestMain duties of the jobThis is a full time post with out of hour's commitments. Remuneration will be commensurate with individuals' experience. The job plan is negotiable, depending on individual's interests (see section 4) and service requirements. As an example a typical job plan will include:Approximately 30% critical careApproximately 60% in Anaesthesia10% based in Mountain MedicineProfessional development and teaching built in to each of the above.The appointment is subject to the national Medical and Dental Terms and Conditions of service.On-call rota will be 1 in 8. Annual leave will accrue under standard NHS conditions.About usNorth Wales is an area of outstanding natural scenic beauty with impressive landscapes, sweeping beaches, and spectacular scenery. Snowdonia National Park is practically on the doorstep and the area is a magnet for outdoor enthusiasts.We have excellent links by rail and road to the nearby cities of Chester, Liverpool and Manchester, and direct rail links to London (approx 3 hours).Job responsibilitiesYou will be able to find the full Job Description and Person Specification in the supporting documents section of the advert.Person SpecificationExperienceAt least 2 years post-graduate experience.Evidence of interest in Quality Improvement.At least 1 year's anaesthetic experience in a training post (not including foundation)12 months NHS experience (clinical attachments not counted)Anaesthetic experience in a broad range of specialitiesEvidence of research relevant to AnaesthesiaKnowledge/QualificationMBChB or equivalentFull registration with GMCALS /ATLS/APLS or similarFRCAIonising Radiation CertificateMember MDU/MPS or similarSkills and abilitiesHas achieved appropriate level of core competenciesCompletion of Foundation ProgramITU and obstetric anaesthesia experienceExperience in paediatric anaesthesiaAppropriate levels of skills and abilities to provide anaesthesia for general emergencies for adultsGood working knowledge and experience of up-to-date anaestheticsDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.£46,324 to £60,706 a yearper annum, pro rata #J-18808-Ljbffr
