OverviewLecturer in Law (Bilingual: Welsh/ English) at Prifysgol Aberystwyth University.The Department of Law and Criminology invites applications for a Bilingual Lecturer in Law who will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in Welsh and English. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills in both Welsh and English and may teach subjects bilingually: criminal law, land law, tort law and equity.ResponsibilitiesDeliver teaching and contribute to the development of Law as a subject area.Prepare for and deliver undergraduate, postgraduate and other taught provision as required.Coordinate the delivery of Departmental modules and contribute to curriculum design, planning and delivery of undergraduate provision in collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.Maintain a Personal Tutor group, conduct formal meetings, and discuss assessment and feedback to support ongoing learner development.Engage with curriculum development, assessment and feedback in line with University policies; use AU IT systems; liaise with External Examiners; ensure the curriculum supports employability goals.Undertake research leading to REF-eligible outputs; supervise postgraduate research students; foster research partnerships and pursue grant funding; contribute to the Research Engagement and Impact agenda.Contribute to marketing and recruitment at UG & PG levels; develop Welsh-medium activities; participate in open days, school visits and outreach events.Fulfill health and safety responsibilities and contribute to the University’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy and Continuous Professional Development.Qualifications and ExperiencePhD in Law or a cognate subject.Currently working towards, or have completed, a teaching qualification.Experience of teaching law through Welsh and English at undergraduate or postgraduate level.Flexibility to teach across the range of law provision and outside immediate specialist area.Evidence of research outputs in peer-reviewed journals or equivalent.Understanding of the grant funding landscape and willingness to engage with it.Administrative experience within an academic context.Experience working with students in personal tutoring, welfare or mentoring roles, in Welsh and English.Oral and written Welsh at level C2.DesirableExperience of Research Impact activities.Knowledge Exchange activities related to research.Welsh language levels information available from the institution.How to ApplyApplications must be made through jobs.aber.ac.uk.
