Our clients are active in all branches of commerce and industry, ranging from substantial corporations to small businesses in a variety of sectors, including but not limited to restaurants and hospitality, property, media, technology and entertainment, as well as organisations within the not-for-profit sector, such as charities, trade unions and higher education establishments.The Not-For-Profit (NFP) team is a sub-division of the Firm’s Audit Department. The Not-For-Profit team works with a range of clients including charities, trade unions, and universities.We require an experienced external audit manager to join our rapidly growing specialist NFP team at Senior Manager level. The ideal candidate will be a good team player, with excellent audit quality and possessing good organisational, planning, and delegation skills as well as being passionate about the sector.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of clients across the NFP sector, including charities, higher education and trade unions. The role will include managing client relationships and ensuring that we deliver excellent client service and high quality audits.In addition, we are very active in the NFP world and so there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved with marketing events, tenders for new work and writing articles.The main responsibilities include:Planning, supervising, and reviewing audit workReviewing statutory accounts in line with Charities SORP, the Further and Higher Education SORP, and FRS102Supervising junior staff and providing assistance regarding technical queries and professional development, including conducting periodic appraisalsDealing with billing managementStaff-related administration dutiesAd hoc business consultancyAssisting in generating new businessAssisting with staff recruitment for the audit departmentOther ad hoc duties in line with the roleThe CandidateWe require an ACA or ACCA qualified candidate, who has experience as a manager with an accountancy practice.The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate:Proven audit experience within the NFP sectorExperience with Higher Education, Charities and, potentially, Trade Union auditsExperience of the Charities SORPExperience of the Further and Higher Education SORPExperience of FRS102Excellent technical ability and audit qualityStrong leadership and supervisory skillsProven ability to prioritise workloadExcellent communication skillsBenefitsSalary: competitiveGroup Life Cover25 days holiday on commencementBuying and Selling Holiday SchemeHybrid working policy – at least 2 days in the office a week, with a core hours system in placePHI (Permanent Health Insurance)Contributory Private Health SchemeNon-Contributory Health Cash PlanSeason Ticket Loan (after qualifying period)Discounted Gym MembershipDiscounted TastecardPerkbox MembershipPension SchemeCycle voucher scheme #J-18808-Ljbffr
