Junior Graphic Designer

Upper Canada UK is looking for a Junior Graphic Designerto work within our Design Team, focusing primarily on a key client within our roster. All our products are developed and designed in-house, something we are extremely proud of. This makes us incredibly agile with our finger on the pulse. As a Junior Graphic Designer you will work across a range of outputs to bring our products to life with new and original designs inspired by emerging trends and internal briefs. This role works closely with our Product Development Team to translate key concepts and ideas into commercial, visually stunning designs. Having grown year on year for the past 6 years, the successful applicant will be joiningus at an exciting time, as there is a huge opportunity to contribute to our continued growth and expansion. What you can expect A Varied Workload Working across a range of products from beauty accessories to wet lines Delivering a variety of disciplines – product design and visualisation, illustrative, typographic, and photographic art direction Packaging Artworking Preparing presentations for the sales team Produce marketing materials including Brochures, Trade Show Graphics, Social Media Posts and Web banners Develop content for our social media channels High-Quality Outputs Working closely with the team to plan, design product and packaging, brief samples and artwork packaging and any supporting materials Ensuring product design fits the brand strategy to deliver profitable brand growth Following and being able to work to existing brand guidelines Trend-Driven Creativity Generating new and original designs based on briefs and emerging trends Working in-conjunction with the team of product developers to deliver trend led, inspirational product on time and in full to our customers Reviewing the market to ensure product and packaging are in line with both the brand proposition and the target retailer Competitor Shopping the retail market to be aware of moving trends About you The Candidate Required At least 3 years'experience within the gift or beauty sector A broad portfolio of work, including product and packaging examples You live and breathe design; you have your finger on the pulse of new trends and see inspiration everywhere You’re able to translate your ideas and creativity into commercially minded designs that follow a brief, executing them into a range of outputs. Some experience in designing marketing materials for print and digital. Excellent knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and PowerPoint) Comfortable with Excel spreadsheets for tracking projects. Able to demonstrate a full understanding of the print process Understanding fabric lines and having strong art working experience, creating and preparing files for print (experience of working with cutter guides, heavy text packaging). Able to work and communicate with colleagues at all levels across the business, collaborating on ideas and taking direction when necessary.
