Experienced Practice Nurse required Monday to FridayHours are negotiablePay depending on experienceWe have two sites: Main site is Weoley Park Surgery, 112 Weoley Park Road, B29 5HA and branch site is Grange Hill Surgery, 41 Grange Hill Road, B38 8RFWill be required to work at both sitesMain duties of the jobProvide routine nursing care as requiredIdentify, manage, and support patients at risk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects on the patients' healthProvide chronic disease clinics, asthma, diabetes, COPD etc., referring patients to secondary/specialist care as requiredProvide vaccination and immunisation programs for both adults and childrenProvide wound care including dressings & removal of sutures, staples & clipsPerform venepunctureProcess pathology results as requiredRoutine ear checks, syringing if necessaryPerform ECGsSupport and manage health needs of women presenting for cervical cytology consultationsSupport and advise women requesting information relating to family planning needsRecognise, assess and refer patients presenting with mental health needsMeet the needs of patients presenting for opportunistic wound care and other nursing activityAssisting GPs with Minor Surgery ClinicMaintaining a cleaning regime for equipmentOrdering of vaccinations, needles etc. in order to maintain stock levelsUndertake administration tasks as allocatedDelivery of training and development to required practice staffEnsure treatment room is kept neat and tidyAbout usWe are a friendly practice with 4 GP Partners, 2 salaried GPs, 2 ANPs, 2 Physician Associates and a team of administrative staff.We are a training practice supporting GP registrars and medical students from local universities.Job responsibilitiesThe successful candidate willBe proficient in EMIS, consulting with patients to deliver high-quality healthcare (desirable)Demonstrate knowledge and experience in QOF and associated skills, including traditional treatment room tasks (e.g., child/adult immunisations, travel vaccinations, cervical cytology, dressings, wound care, family planning, and BP monitoring).Management of long-term conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma).Be innovative, enthusiastic, and caring, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.Actively contribute to maintaining our values and the development of patient services.Be open to skills development and participate in clinical meetings.Person SpecificationQualificationsRegistered General Nurse RGN with valid NMC registration.Proven experience in primary careCompetence in chronic disease management, e.g., diabetes, asthma, hypertension.Experience with vaccinations, cytology, and wound care.Experience with Quality and Outcomes Framework QOF targets and audits.Skills and Competencies:Excellent clinical skills, including history taking and care planning.Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.Competence in using electronic patient record systems.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Personal Attributes:Compassionate, approachable, and patient-focused.Commitment to continuous professional development.Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the practice.A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to challenges.Other Requirements:Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and safeguarding principles.Commitment to equality and diversity in healthcare.Aware of infection control and health & safety regulations.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
