You will contribute to developing and growing the transport policy monitoring and evaluation capability, working with senior experts and specialists across WSP to deliver tailored monitoring and evaluation services for clients in central and local government, energy, roads, rail, and active travel.A Little More About Your Role… At WSP, you will explore opportunities to apply your monitoring and evaluation expertise to help meet evolving policy priorities such as carbon reduction, climate resilience, safety and security, digitisation, customer expectations, and efficiency. You will provide robust, credible, and usable monitoring and evaluation plans to demonstrate what works and why, enabling effective operation and evolution of transport systems.Working in our Operations and Safety team, you will collaborate with senior experts and other specialists to deliver a diverse portfolio of monitoring and evaluation projects at central and local government levels. A typical week includes delivering multi-discipline monitoring and evaluation projects, providing expert advice to clients, collaborating with other WSP teams to bring in needed skills, and contributing to the growth of the M&E capability.ResponsibilitiesDeliver a multi-discipline monitoring and evaluation project, including assessing evaluability, scoping and designing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, delivering evaluations of local and national transport policies, and turning insights into learning and action.Provide expert monitoring and evaluation advice to help clients deliver objectives and optimise benefits.Collaborate with experts from across other WSP teams to ensure project needs are met.Contribute to the growth of the Monitoring and Evaluation capability team to support delivery against its ambitions.What We Will Be Looking For You To DemonstrateA proven technical capability in designing and executing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for policies, programmes and/or projects, including impact and process evaluation approaches.Understanding and experience applying different evaluation methods including quasi-experimental and theory-based approaches.Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills (statistical, economic or social research) with experience delivering robust mixed-method analyses.Experience applying government guidance on monitoring and evaluation (e.g., HM Treasury Magenta/Green Books, or Department for Transport Transport Appraisal Guidance).Ability to foster collaborations and communicate technical evaluation insights to varied audiences to gain engagement and buy-in.A passion for evidence-informed decision-making and robust evidence.A proven track record of working with government, research and commercial partners.About UsWe are one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services firms with a global team focused on creating positive, long-lasting impacts through innovation, integrity, and inclusion.
