Overview To support developments within the Emergency Department at Eastbourne District General Hospital, East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust requires a further Consultant in Emergency Medicine. The post holder will assist in the provision of a high quality emergency service as part of the development of a multi-disciplinary team approach to care within the speciality. Responsibilities The consultant will work primarily at Eastbourne but may on occasion work cross-site at Conquest with a 1 in 8 weekend and 1 in 8 on call. The role includes: Participating in a team of 8 consultants in the emergency department. Providing shop floor cover Monday to Friday 08:00 to 00:00, and Saturday and Sunday 08:00 to 16:00 with 1 in 8 on call. Covering consultant shifts of 12:00 to 22:00, 14:00 to 00:00 and 16:00 to 02:00 when all posts are filled. Demonstrating commitment to all aspects of Emergency Medicine and contributing to career development. Qualifications Applicants must have full GMC registration and be on the specialist register or within 6 months of obtaining their CCT. About the Trust East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust operates two level 1 emergency departments at Eastbourne DGH and Conquest Hospital, the latter designated as a Trauma Unit. In 2020 the Care Quality Commission rated the Trust as ‘Good’ overall, with ‘Outstanding’ ratings for caring, effective care, and service excellence.
