We are currently seeking to fill new positions to support our growing research portfolio.Position SummaryWe are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Logistics Subject Matter Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in domestic, export, and import logistics, ensuring compliance with all government regulations related to shipments, hazardous materials, and research materials. Responsibilities include executing the Harmonized System, including familiarity with the UK Global Tariff (UKGT), Tariff of the EU (TARIC) and the Harmonized System of the United States (HTSUS), for classification of exporting and importing materials, supporting compliant materials management for Zoetis research materials moving between sites, maintaining the chain of custody for biological specimens, offering detailed instructions to exporters and importers for safe transportation and customs clearance, and managing all entry information and documentation with the company's designated customs broker. Ensure every step complies with regulatory standards and quality control measures, while maintaining the chain of custody for biological specimens.Logistics and Coordination: Optimize the flow of samples and materials within our biobanks. Collaborate with researchers, laboratory staff, and external partners, and become the go-to expert for domestic, export, and import logistics.Quality Assurance and Inventory Control: Uphold the highest standards of sample integrity through rigorous quality control procedures. Manage inventory systems to keep track of sample locations, quantities, and conditions with precision.Data and Document Management: Ensure accurate documentation and data entry related to sample handling and logistics operations. Facilitate draft reviews and prepare documents in collaboration with our Global Distribution Center.Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Stay ahead of the curve by ensuring compliance with all government regulations related to import, export, and domestic shipments. Facilitate the implementation of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule for the United States, ensuring accurate classification coding for imported materials. In the EU, collaborate with the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD) to oversee tariff scheduling through the TARIC system. In the UK, work with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) to manage tariff scheduling via the UK Integrated Tariff Schedule.Exporter Instructions and Customs Clearance: Communicate specific procedures to exporters to ensure safe transportation of goods and expedite customs clearance. Support the collection of all entry information to the company's designated customs broker and review all documentation provided to customs by the broker.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with the current Bureau of Export Administration, International Air Transport Association (IATA), DOT, EPA, NRC, and internal compliance regulations. Keep meticulous records of all hazardous material shipments for auditing by the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), FAA, NRC, Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Department for Transport (DfT), European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), European Union Agency for Railways (ERA), and European Commission - Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE).Join us and make a significant impact in the world of biological sample and material management. Navigation of custom regulation post Brexit highly valuable.International Air Transport Association (IATA) TrainingAbility and comfort with learning/using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and online inventory databases.Experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within a laboratory setting.Strong organizational and coordination skills.Capable of working with minimal oversight in a cross-functional environment.
