OverviewOur client, an ingenious early stage VC backed next generation telecoms software provider, is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join their incredible team of 20-25 experienced, talented and enthusiastic multi-platform engineers. This role is for a Senior Software Developer to work on a next generation cloud-agnostic, micro-service network management platform. Remote Working - Based in the UK. Excellent salaries and benefits including 30 days holiday.Job AccountabilitiesBuild high quality software using cutting edge technologies in collaboration with other team membersOwn the work, add tests and metrics and participate to code reviewsHelp the team with defining architectures that will scale and encourage best practicesProvide technical leadership to more junior engineersDesign, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.Kubernetes cluster creationKubernetes cluster maintenance and troubleshootingCreating Terraform based infrastructureSupport SRE and developer teamsFollow security practices on all infrastructureMaintain documentation and updating runbooksIncident detection, response and remediationPost incident reviewsExperience Needed3+ years of industry experience building mission-critical software applications in a collaborative and team-focused environmentExperience with Go, Python, or other modern programming languages. C++ knowledge a plus2+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker + Kubernetes) and confidence operating cloud infrastructuresFront-end development experience a plusDevOps skills, especially leveraging open source tools (Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana) a plusSound understanding of agile software development best practices including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, alerting and documentationBeing Cloud agnostic means not being able to use any managed Kubernetes service, so building your own Kubernetes is expected; experience with only managed Kubernetes would not be applicable for the roleKubernetes experience on at least one cloudPrometheus stack (Grafana, Prometheus, alertmanager)Kubernetes upgrade and maintenance experienceAny logging infrastructure experienceTerraformAnsibleShell/Python scriptingGitlab pipelines (or any other CI/CD)Desirable experienceKubernetes securityKubernetes on-premise experienceKubernetes networkingvSpherePackerFlux or ArgoCDKubernetes installation with KubesprayEast-West clusterAs a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel.
