About the Role

Simply Education are proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in the Stoke-on-Trent area. The school is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated PE Teacher to join their vibrant Physical Education department. Key Responsibilities

Deliver dynamic and engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.

Plan and deliver a variety of sports and physical activities that cater to different abilities and interests.

Promote healthy lifestyles, wellbeing, and the importance of physical activity.

Organise and oversee extracurricular clubs, sports fixtures, and enrichment activities.

Assess, record, and report on student progress and attainment.

Provide constructive feedback to support student development and achievement.

Maintain discipline and encourage high standards of behaviour, teamwork, and punctuality.

Ensure safe use of equipment and facilities, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work and innovative teaching strategies.

Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support student progress.

Contribute to whole-school initiatives and the wider life of the school community.

Key Skills & Qualities

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education and a passion for inspiring participation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Effective classroom and behaviour management techniques.

Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities.

Empathy, patience, and adaptability when working with students requiring additional support.

Essential Requirements

QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience teaching PE in line with the national curriculum.

An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable

Experience supporting students with SEN.

Experience leading extracurricular sports clubs or teams.

Commitment to inclusive education and promoting equal opportunities in sport.
