Overview Join to apply for the SET CAMHS Senior Practitioner role at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. Role Summary SET CAMHS has an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to step into an established role within a diverse and experienced team delivering mental health interventions to children and young people. The role sits within the Getting More Help and System Support and Risk management sections of the Thrive model. You will work with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to assess, formulate and treat, using the most appropriate evidence‑based options to meet the needs of young people and children. The senior practitioner will support the delivery of a range of individual therapy within the Thrive Model, supervise and mentor staff, and develop innovative strategies to support young people and their families. Children and young people referred to SET CAMHS may present with low mood, anxiety, obsessive–compulsive disorders, self‑harm, suicidal ideation, trauma‑related challenges, emotional difficulties, and other mental health needs. For those with additional neurodevelopmental needs, adapted interventions are provided, both group and individual. The successful candidate should have a high standard of knowledge and experience in working with young people in CAMHS services and demonstrate an understanding of presentations within the context of neurodevelopmental disorders. Desirable therapeutic skills include CBT, Family/Systemic, DBT and other counselling approaches, and experience of providing adapted interventions. Qualifications & Experience Qualified mental health professional (e.g. nurse, psychologist, social worker, psychotherapist, family therapist). Significant experience working with children and young people in CAMHS settings. Demonstrated ability to assess, formulate and deliver evidence‑based treatment for a wide range of presentations. Experience in supervising, managing or training multidisciplinary team members (support will be provided for suitable candidates). Desirably experienced in or trained in CBT, Family/Systemic, DBT or other evidence‑based counselling approaches. Knowledge of the Thrive Model and NICE guidance for child and adolescent mental health. Benefits & Working Conditions Full‑time employment with a structured induction and mentorship programme. The post is subject to a probationary period, with clear expectations and support for professional development. New starters will begin on the first Monday of each month and undertake comprehensive induction, system training and equipment allocation at the head office in Rainham, Essex.
