Teacher of Art and Design Vacancy - January 2026 >Job Title: Art Teacher Contract: Full-time Start Date: January 2026 Location: Secondary School, Newham, London Salary: MPS/UPS (Inner London) About the Role We are seeking an inspiring and passionate Art Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive Creative Arts department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, inclusive, and high-quality Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and departmental needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a diverse and vibrant school community in Newham. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and stimulating Art lessons that inspire students and promote progress. Teach across multiple key stages, ensuring work is appropriately challenging and accessible to all learners. Create an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates creativity, cultural diversity, and individual artistic expression. Contribute to developing schemes of work, curriculum enrichment, and whole-school creative initiatives. Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing effective feedback to support learning and attainment. Manage and organise Art resources, studio spaces, and displays to maintain an inspiring learning environment. Participate in departmental meetings, school events, open evenings, and extracurricular activities such as Art clubs or exhibitions. Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement, and engagement in line with school policies. Person Specification Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards completion of QTS. A degree in Art, Fine Art, Art & Design, or a related creative discipline. A strong understanding of Art techniques, media, and processes. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to motivate and support students of varying abilities and backgrounds. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Why Join Us?
