Here at the Mick George Group we are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join the team.Location: Huntingdon/ Site BasedWorking Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am – 5pmPay: Dependent on experience at the manager's discretionBenefits: Competitive Salary, Company Pension, Employee Assistance Programme, 28-Days holiday inclusive of bank holidays, Company benefit platform, Cycle to work scheme, PPE provided, Internal training and Career development.About the RoleTo manage the day to day running of the commercial elements of contracting projects, working as part of the wider site team to maximise profit and reduce risk to the business.Main Responsibilities:To oversee the day-to-day commercial control of projects.To be responsible for reviewing contractual terms and administering the contract throughout the life of the project.To procure subcontract packages timeously in line with scope of works as well as mitigating contractual risk to the businessTo procure materials in line with project requirements.To submit accurate valuations to clients and actively seek requests for payments from clients.To measure subcontract works and issue payment certificates in line with contractual requirementsTo accurately report cost and value in line with the financial timetableTo raise risks, opportunities, and concerns with senior management at the earliest opportunityTo close out the commercial elements of projects through to final account with clients and subcontractorsTo maintain client relationshipsTo seek opportunities for new and continued work.To be aware of the health and safety responsibilities on site and raise items of concerns with site management or senior management.To provide support and advice to less experienced members of the team.Always conduct themselves in a professional manner as an ambassador of Mick George GroupComplete any adhoc requests.Skills & Competencies RequiredEssentialDegree or NVQ in Quantity SurveyingCSCS CardExcellent communication skillsProblem solving skillsAbility to be methodical and flexible in approach to tasksA pro-active team memberBasic computer literacy (use of emails, etc.)The Mick George Group is committed to providing equality of opportunity for all.
