The Strategy Team is an OMD UK strength a twelve-strong department two Managing Partners three Strategy Partners three Strategy Directors and four Strategists reporting into the agencys Chief Strategy Officer. We lead and heavily contribute to fresh thinking through internal Product Development and Thought Leadership.The Role is a unique opportunity to further your career as a marketing strategist on some of the worlds best brands. Working into an experienced Strategy Partner or Managing Partner of Strategy your responsibility will be to create brilliant strategic thinking that powers the day-to-day campaign planning of some of our biggest clients and take a leading role shaping the overall media strategy of some of our smaller clients. You will inspire cross agency teams to build creative and effective solutions for client which help them build competitive advantage.You will play a leading role in identifying the insight and shaping the ideas at the heart of those campaigns collaborating with external agency partners to create integrated and effective recommendations for our addition you will play a critical role in new business and agency culture leading the strategy on some smaller pitches contributing to agency training initiatives and helping produce thought-leadership.In addition you will have some responsibility for the development of our teams junior strategists and talent across the agency more broadly. You will positively contribute to a creative collaborative and cohesive culture within the Strategy team.The Clients would be a mix of Tier 1 (contributing) Tier 2 and Tier 3.The Ideal Candidate likely has some direct experience of strategic development whether in a dedicated marketing agency role or not. You will demonstrate a minimum of three years in Strategy roles with highly transferrable skills. You should have an elevated knowledge of the UK media landscape and a familiarity with established marketing theory on effectiveness and brand-building.Because youll be independently responsible for some client delivery you should be capable of building relationships and influencing established Brand and Marketing Managers client-side (and Marketing Directors at times) and comfortable working collaboratively not passively with creative agency account planners and other agency partners. Youll be a persuasive presence on your feet with a clear point of view able to communicate in simple digestible language and not intimidated by more senior clients.You should also possess an inquisitive and insightful mind able to interrogate a brief and identify opportunities for genuinely novel solutions through the funnel wherever they may be.
