Role Overview This is a brand new post created due to service expansion. This is an opportunity to join an already exciting and dynamic women and children’s team. Key Responsibilities The Senior Pharmacist will provide a highly specialist clinical pharmacy service within the Women & Children’s Directorate, ensuring high quality, safe, effective, legal and accurate use of medicines within the speciality. The role includes maintaining a regular clinical commitment to both women and paediatric wards (prescribing and neonatal experience would be desirable) and providing information support for division and specialist pharmacists. The pharmacy pharmacist will deputise for the Lead Directorate Pharmacist when required. The position also involves working with senior clinicians to determine medicines‑related cost pressures for the Women & Children Directorate, monitoring and reviewing prescribing practice to ensure effective, safe, evidence‑based and cost‑effective prescribing.
