Site Information HMP Frankland is a Category A men’s prison located in the village of Brasside in County Durham, England. Frankland is operated by His Majesty’s Prison Service, and is located next to HM Prison Low Newton, a closed women’s prison. Though traditionally holding men serving more than four years, since 2005 Frankland has also taken category A remand prisoners. In 2019, it was designated as a prison with a training function.
