Corporate Banking Manager

Join to apply for the Corporate Banking Manager - Reading role at Handelsbanken This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team at the Reading branch as a Corporate Banking Manager. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of business customers across the full suite of corporate products and services, predominantly property lending customers, plus local trading businesses and non‑borrowing customers. Full responsibility will include preparing credit applications, financial and risk analysis, balance sheet analysis, annual reviews, monitoring management accounts, covenant compliance and profitability. The role requires developing the portfolio, winning and onboarding new customers with a passion for customer service and focus on profitability and business development. Main Responsibilities Maintain and develop a portfolio of corporate customers, building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service. Identify, meet and win prospective new customers and introducers by outlining services and facilities. Complete credit applications and annual reviews in line with the Bank’s Credit Policy. Interpret customer financial information, evaluate lending propositions, assess risk ratings, structure transactions, and ensure appropriate customer selection. Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the local market; maintain relationships with professional firms and introducers. Attend networking events and undertake focused business development activities. Identify and offer customers appropriate Handelsbanken products and services, communicating benefits and risks. General administration, including preparation/reviewing of legal documentation for accounts (KYC/AML reviews), lending facilities and securities. Ideal Candidate Proven track‑record in corporate relationship and portfolio management, understanding of the Bank’s Credit Policy and processes, and strong business development capabilities. Strong ability to build professional relationships at all levels and represent Handelsbanken effectively; excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong team player, flexible, proactive, conscientious, with a positive attitude; works with integrity and discretion under pressure. Strong attention to detail and organised approach to work, delivering high accuracy. Experience with lending documentation/security and AML/KYC procedures for business customers/transactions is advantageous. High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel); training will be provided on internal IT systems.
