MuseCool Greater London, England, United Kingdom QA Engineer (Music EdTech) MuseCool Greater London, England, United Kingdom Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features. We’re MuseCool, London’s largest music school — now building The Muse, an innovative platform that assists music tutors in delivering personalized lessons and improving student engagement. You’ll help us develop a cutting-edge music lesson understanding engine, to be used in thousands of real lessons. Expect messy audio, real students, real tutors, real data — and the chance to build something no one has built before. This is a hybrid London role requiring (approximately) two days per week in our Liverpool Street office. Must already have the right to work in the UK. The Role We’re hiring a QA Engineer (Music EdTech) to take ownership of testing across our interactive music‑learning platform. This includes finding and reproducing tricky audio, UI, and timing bugs, coordinating with tutors and beta testers, and building our testing processes and automation from the ground up. This is not a big‑corporate QA role with existing systems — you’ll define how QA works here and make sure our product is reliable for real music learners. You’ll work closely with our team of engineers, Musicians, and Tutors. What You’ll Work On Test and break our music‑learning features across web and interactive game interfaces Reproduce bugs involving timing, audio, UI transitions, and real‑time feedback Build our QA processes, test plans, and reporting structure from scratchWrite automated tests (Playwright/Cypress or similar) once manual workflows are defined Coordinate with tutors to gather feedback and validate correctness, and listen to (and occasionally attend) real piano lessons to understand real‑world failure cases Work closely with ML and frontend teams to validate new behaviours and edge cases Requirements 2–5 years of QA engineering experience (manual + automation) Strong ability to write clear, reproducible bug reports Experience with test automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, Jest, etc.)Music background (played any instrument at an amateur level or above) Able to work approximately 2 days/week in our Liverpool Street office Must already have the right to work in the UK (we cannot sponsor visas) Nice‑to‑Haves Experience testing real‑time systems or audio‑dependent features Experience building QA processes in a startup or early product environment Familiarity with MIDI, music notation, or music‑learning apps Curiosity about music education and children’s learning Don't tick every box? Apply anyway if you're passionate about music education technology and eager to learn—we value curiosity and drive as much as experience. What We Offer Ownership, autonomy, and the chance to shape our entire QA foundation Rapid growth as the company scales Weekly instrument lessons Monthly team outings to London’s cultural scene (concerts, performances, exhibitions) To apply send an email to ivan@musecool.com and include: CV If possible share a bug report you’ve personally written (paste/attach, with all confidential info removed), OR write a new bug report for any software issue you’ve recently encountered Interviews ongoing — we hire fast when we meet the right person Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full‑time Job function Engineering and Information Technology Industries Education #J-18808-Ljbffr
