About The RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Advisor to join our team at Balfour Beatty, supporting our overhead line (OHL) projects across the east coast of Scotland, particularly in the Angus area. This role is crucial in ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance, aligning with customer and stakeholder requirements.Join Balfour Beatty as a Quality Assurance Specialist and play a pivotal role in delivering our OHL projects in the Angus area on Scotland’s east coast. You will ensure that all projects meet customer and stakeholder requirements, comply with industry standards, and adhere to Balfour Beatty\'s high-quality standards.What you’ll be doingDeliver projects in accordance with customer and stakeholder requirements, including verification activities to demonstrate compliance with Balfour Beatty standards, external accreditations, and industry best practices.Coordinate, submit, manage, and ensure compliance with all assurance activities, resolving any related issues.Implement procedures, including submissions from the supply chain, and establish test and inspection plans for project delivery.Support project teams in developing and following quality plans and inspection & test plans, ensuring customer and project requirements are met.Assist delivery teams in achieving required deliverables and managing issues, providing quality advice to the supply chain where appropriate.Utilise existing systems to establish and agree on sample and benchmark plans with customers and the supply chain.Use digital systems to monitor the performance of quality planning, production of quality deliverables, and managing issues against targets.Support project teams in collating and delivering handover records as per customer requirements, on time.Work according to the processes and procedures of the Business Management System.Support the Quality team during internal and external audits.Implement project or business stream quality strategies, plans, and actions across the project lifecycle.Assist in training, coaching, and developing quality skills, including sharing lessons learned.Foster a culture of continual improvement.Undertake specific investigations and/or reporting on quality-related issues as required.Support the use of appropriate digital tools to support project governance and quality assurance measures, including training on those tools.Live the Balfour Beatty Values and maintain a relentless focus on Zero Harm and Right First Time.Who we’re looking forPrior quality experience and/or relevant operational/technical experience to meet industry sector demands.Relevant academic qualification in quality management, in lieu of relevant experience.Knowledge of ISO9000 terminology.Understanding and commitment to Quality Management.Awareness of business improvement initiatives.Ability to gather, analyse, and evaluate facts.Ability to work to plans and programmes.Attention to detail and commitment to completing tasks.Strong relationship-building skills and effective influencing abilities.Ability to deliver reports orally and in writing objectively.Ability to challenge existing methods and ways of thinking.Ability to work within a multi-discipline team.Proficiency in modern office computer systems and technology (e.g., Office 365).Either a CQI Practitioner or working towards Practitioner status.Awareness of sector-specific certifications and their requirements.Experience using Digital Progressive Assurance systems/Electronic Forms.Operational experience in construction or asset management.Why work for usCompany DC pension scheme up to 5% EEs & 7% ERsWellbeing sessions and non-work activitiesOpportunity to join the company SIP schemeFlexible benefits window with options to purchase additional holidays, bikes, tech vouchers, dental cover, PMI, etc.Reward platform with discounts on shopping, insurance, cars, etc.Hybrid working (where applicable)Enhanced company sickness schemeEnhanced maternity/paternity/shared parental/adoption schemes25 days holiday plus bank holidaysBroad range of learning opportunities, such as professional qualificationsEmployee assistance programmeUp to 2 days volunteering per yearCompany funded social eventsAbout UsBalfour Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution teams work with regional, national, and international electricity network owners and operators to provide technical engineering solutions across the full spectrum of the electricity grid, including overhead lines, cabling, substations, and distribution networks.
