Job Summary Location – Home Based (with regular travel to Ambulance Trusts and suppliers across England) In support of the ARP Programme of works the individual will provide Design and Implementation guidance/assurance/support for the Data Centre Networks, WAN and Trust integrations. The individual will work with Suppliers/ARP team/Trusts on a daily basis to provide and maintain the network delivery for all ARP Technologies; WAN/LAN Mobile Network Operators Enterprise Data Centre Network ARP provides mission critical communications for all Ambulance Trusts in the UK; the individual will need full CCIE qualification to fulfill this role. Main Duties of the Job Senior technical position requiring specialist skills in 2G/3G/4G/LTE technologies and experience in agile software development environments. Specify, design and select control room solutions that deliver required utility and warranty to end users. Responsible for all technical elements including planning, design, options appraisal, testing and delivery of the end product, with interfaces to national and local programmes. Investigate and inform on latest 2G/3G/4G device related technology, providing knowledge on future technical trends. Carry out assessments on control room and mobile device technologies and protocols, providing clear technical guidance to technical, service and user communities. Build strong relationships with service management, technical disciplines, suppliers, users across Ambulance Trusts, NHS, and manage stakeholder demands. About Us The Ambulance Radio Programme (ARP) is an enduring organisation directly appointed by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to provide and upgrade emergency communications for UK ambulance services. ARP has a team of over a hundred staff and supports a £460m programme of work. ARP introduces new technology to ambulance services, enhancing patient care, and prepares the ambulance service for the Home Office’s Emergency Services Network (ESN). CCIE full certification with >5 years experience in mission critical programmes. WAN/LAN network design with >10 years experience. Technical experience in mobile communications, requirements gathering, options appraisal, and technical/operational testing. Degree or equivalent experience. Ability to project manage high‑value, complex implementations. Desirable ISEB Solution Enterprise Architecture experience. Experience working within Ambulance Service.
