Greater London, United Kingdom Amber Electric Full time

⚡About Amber Amber is an entirely new way of thinking about buying, banking and selling energy where home energy technology works to put money back in customers’ pockets and accelerate the renewable energy transition. We’re an Australian headquartered company, where we are both an energy technology company and a utility providing energy directly to households and small businesses. In Australia (the world leader on rooftop solar and a 2-way energy grid), we’ve proven that the cheapest, fastest and most rewarding way to reach 100% renewables is to automate the growing wave of home batteries, EVs, and other smart energy devices. Customers get direct access to the real-time electricity prices and the technology to shift energy usage to the times when cheaper renewables are available in the grid and export to the grid at times when the price they can be paid for it is highest. We are a clear market leader in energy automation in Australia, and are now partnering with utilities across Europe to bring our technology to European markets and consumers. We’re at a critical moment in taking the business to scale in Europe. You’ll be joining a growing local team of 10‑15, and be part of a global team of over 175, with expertise across energy, technology, marketing, and operations. We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and a great culture of people who love coming to work to build a better world. We’re backed by leading VCs in Australia and Europe, as well as impact‑focused investors and world‑leading energy companies. 💻 About the role This role sits at the heart of Amber’s mission to accelerate the transition to 100% renewables. You will be joining a passionate, purpose‑driven team where your work will have a direct impact on reshaping the energy industry and empowering customers to take control of their energy usage. Want to help improve the environment by shifting the world’s energy usage towards renewables? As Product Manager Your focus will be getting Amber’s tech into the hands of millions of European homes to allow them to unlock the full value of their energy devices. You’ll be working with our European and UK utility partners to help bring products based on Amber's technology into market, and then help make them a success in the market once live. You’ll be passionate about solving real customer problems with Amber’s product and motivated by launching a product in new regions and taking them to scale. You’ll coordinate across product, tech and commercial teams to get it done in a way that delivers incredible value to both our utility partners, but even more importantly delivers incredible experiences to the end‑users. This is a full‑time role to be ideally based in the UK or mainland Europe (working on BST). If this gets you excited, read on… 👉🏽 Responsibilities Develop a deep understanding of Amber, energy device optimisation, end‑user customer needs, and each client's strategic context, and then navigate a product delivery team towards delivering incredible value and impact for the client and their end‑users. Serve as the primary point of contact for client delivery teams and coordinate interactions; Understand end‑user and utility partner needs, create requirements and manage the resulting engineering backlog; Create plans, define success metrics, agree timelines and allocate resources in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; Build, coordinate and motivate Amber’s project team (tech, product and commercial); Track delivery against the plan and success metrics, course‑correct as needed and communicate progress to our clients, stakeholders and teams; Maintain an intimate understanding of Amber’s product and tech to provide our clients guidance and support; Lead end‑to‑end delivery from scoping through to post‑launch optimisation and scaling, ensuring product success in‑market Understand the client’s strategic context and articulate how Amber can help them achieve their goals; Represent the client within Amber: monitor product quality, provide feedback to the development team and implement improvements; Work closely with Amber’s Australian product and engineering teams to shape their roadmaps in line with UK/European market needs Coordinate product requirements across multiple utility partners to ensure scalable, repeatable solutions Contribute to shaping Amber’s European product strategy, ensuring coherence between markets and driving continuous improvement in product‑market fit 🎯 Key Requirements At Amber, we want to hire self‑stagers who are eager to learn and are comfortable working in a changing environment. Some of the key traits we are looking for in this role: 5 years experience in a product manager, solution implementation or technical product management role; Experience with the energy, B2B SaaS, energy device (e.g. EVs, residential batteries, PV) or similar industries; Track record building and nurturing effective client relationships, at any level, up to and including exec; Comfortable blending internal agile ways of working with clients' enterprise‑style delivery cycles; Experience delivering successful technology deployments to corporate clients; Bias towards action, with proven ability to navigate complexity to deliver outcomes; Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to translate between technical and non‑technical stakeholders; Highly analytical, analyzing various data structures and types to identify trends and drive decisions; Naturally organised with a high degree of attention to detail; Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, scale‑up environment. Comfort working at both strategic and delivery levels (balancing roadmap vision with hands‑on execution) 😍 Desirable Experience working across time zones and cultures; Second (or third) European language; Relevant professional qualifications. 🎉 Benefits We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and a great culture of people who love coming to work to build a better world; You’d be a part of a rapidly growing global team of over 150 shaping the future of household and grid energy use; Flexible working hours& remote working - see How You Work below for more info; Shares in Amber Electric; Employment and leave entitlements as per your local country; An external Employee Assistance Plan for mental health support; Annual Learning & Development budget to support your personal growth; Annual company conference in Melbourne, Australia; flights & accommodation paid for. 👩💻 How You Work You will be working predominantly remotely, with Amber’s flexible culture allowing you to shape your schedule around core collaboration hours. Our European team operates from a central London hub that you will be expected to travel to for your first 2 weeks of onboarding, and approximately every 2 months thereafter for team collaboration. There may be opportunities to travel to Australia 1‑2 times per year to attend company‑wide events. £65,000 - £85,000 a year 💰 Salary range - Anywhere between £65k and £85k base per annum. All roles at Amber include employee stock options over and above the base salary and pension. 🌈 If this role sparks something in you, we’d genuinely love to hear from you. Research shows that women and people from underrepresented groups often rule themselves out unless they tick every single box - so consider this your nudge. Even if you don’t meet every requirement listed above, please still apply. We welcome diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences - that’s what makes great teams. We’re committed to an inclusive workplace and never discriminate based on race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability. 🪄 How to Apply Please include your resume and a cover letter. 🏅 Our hiring process is: A screening interview with our talent team; An intro call with the hiring manager; A panel interview centered around an assignment that should take no longer than one evening to prepare for; A potential final chat with one/two of the founders or exec team. 🎬The bit at the end We promise to be respectful of your time as an applicant while trying to be as thorough as possible in finding the right fit for our team. Applications will be accepted only from candidates already based in the UK/EU, with full working rights Shortlisted candidates will be contacted promptly.
