Lead Practitioner – Business & Economics – Tunbridge WellsContract: Full-time, PermanentStart date: January 2026Salary: Lead Practitioner ScaleMain PurposeThe primary role of the Lead Practitioner is to model exemplary teaching and lead the improvement of teaching and learning across the school. This includes providing guidance, coaching, and training to other staff to raise the overall quality of education.The Lead Practitioner will lead on the development of teaching skills across the school by demonstrating high-quality teaching, supporting colleagues in their professional growth, and promoting innovative approaches to pedagogy.We are seeking a reflective and highly motivated practitioner who sets high expectations for themselves and their students. The successful applicant will be committed to continually improving their own practice, while inspiring colleagues to deliver excellent outcomes. They will play a key role in helping students achieve high aspirations and share our belief that every student deserves an exceptional curriculum and outstanding teaching.Key ResponsibilitiesModel outstanding teaching and learning practices in Business and EconomicsLead initiatives to improve teaching standards across the schoolCoach, mentor, and support colleagues to develop their teaching skillsDeliver training sessions and professional development for staffPlan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 Business, and Key Stage 5 EconomicsContribute to curriculum development and ensure lessons are engaging, challenging, and relevantSupport Enterprise Education initiatives, particularly Young Enterprise, as part of promoting real-world learning opportunitiesWork collaboratively with the Head of Business and Economics and the Assistant Headteacher to support school-wide improvement strategiesCandidate ProfileExperienced and passionate about Business and Economics educationCommitted to achieving excellent progress for all studentsReflective and eager to develop professionallyStrong communicator with the ability to inspire both students and colleaguesFlexible and willing to contribute to the broader life of the school, including enterprise projects and extra-curricular activitiesThe successful candidate will benefit from a full programme of support and professional development, including line management guidance and career progression opportunities, to ensure they continue to grow and excel in their role.We welcome applications from dedicated, innovative educators who are committed to providing outstanding learning experiences and supporting the development of colleagues across the school.The establishment is committed to safeguarding, ensuring the safety and welfare of young people.
