Pendlebury House is an independent hospital and offers packages of rehabilitation to informal and detained service usersunder the MHA, treatment and care to 10 maleswho experience severe and enduring mental health needs. Ultimately our aim is to reintroduce and maintain daily living skills alongside the psychosocial interventions necessary to equip people to live more independently in the community. Role Responsibility Working alongside qualified nurses, occupational therapists, assistant psychologists and project workers as a Support Worker, you will develop good working relationships with each of the men, be able to recognize individual indicators of mental health and to have the skills to help the men to develop appropriate coping strategies. A large part of your role will be to implement planned, appropriate interventions, promoting independence, well–being and healthy life choices, you will also be involved in a range of activities, supporting the men with daily living skills following recovery programs and activity programs that will help our men to develop the important skills they need to progress through their recovery pathway. The Ideal Candidate We are now looking for a committed and enthusiastic Support worker to join our team. Heath and social care experience or qualification would be desirable. You must be anexcellent communicator and possess good people skills. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting people with a mental health problem. Being a Support Worker in a hospital setting, it involves working 37 hours per week and a shift pattern across three different shifts, early, late, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
