Key Responsibilities High-volume audio and copy typing, preparing legal documents, correspondence and forms. Completing Land Registry forms and SDLT returns. Carrying out property searches. Providing support with billing and invoicing. Managing diary appointments, file organisation, copying, filing and general administrative duties. Ensuring all documents and communications are produced accurately and to tight deadlines. Supporting fee earners with day-to-day case handling and administrative needs. Position Overview (Float Legal Secretary) Performs a variety of secretarial and administrative duties, on a floating basis, for attorneys to whom assigned according to established policies and procedures. Maintains positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff to observe confidentiality of client matters. Qualifications (Float Legal Secretary) Previous legal secretarial experience in order to gain an understanding of law office policies and procedures and produce accurate legal documents with minimal supervision. Experience of floating across many practice areas. Excellent English language and grammar skills. Ability to transcribe legal documents, correspondence and reports from rough draft or dictation at a level of 70 wpm. Ability to organise and prioritise numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Work occasionally requires additional hours to perform the essential duties of the position. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with co-workers; work as a team to accomplish tasks and produce final work product.
