Group Tax Manager

OverviewLocation: LondonOffice requirement: Hybrid, 2 days per weekEmployment type: PermanentRole: As our Group Tax Manager, you’ll lead the group’s global tax function, develop strategies to optimise tax efficiency, and ensure compliance across multiple regions, with legal entities in UK, US, Greece, Singapore and Czechia. You’ll act as the primary contact for all tax matters, advising senior stakeholders and collaborating with teams across Finance, Legal, and People to support GWI’s continued international expansion.ResponsibilitiesTax Strategy & GovernanceOwn and develop the group’s tax policy, strategy, and governance frameworkLead tax planning and structuring projects aligned with GWI’s commercial goalsMap and monitor global tax risks and opportunitiesCompliance & ReportingOversee global corporate tax compliance and reporting, including UK, US and international jurisdictionsEnsure adherence to OECD Transfer Pricing requirements, managing documentation and auditsManage indirect tax compliance, including UK VAT, US Sales tax and other international equivalentsLead the preparation and submission of annual corporate tax returns in collaboration with local advisorsAdvisory & CollaborationAdvise on tax implications of business expansion, M&A activity and group restructuringPartner with Legal on employee share schemes and with People on payroll tax mattersSupport R&D tax credit claims and oversee tax due diligence processesMaintain constructive relationships with tax authorities globallyProcess ImprovementDrive continuous improvement through new systems, tools, and process automation in tax and finance operationsTechnicalQualified tax professional (CTA or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in industryStrong technical expertise across UK, US and international tax, including transfer pricing and global reporting standardsWorking knowledge of US tax principles is desirableCommercially astute, with the ability to translate technical tax concepts into business-focused adviceExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsSelf-directed and able to work independently, taking ownership of projects and decisions with minimal supervisionCompetenciesClear Communication & Influence : Convey complex tax concepts in a clear and engaging way, ensuring understanding among non-finance stakeholdersOrganisation & Time Management : Demonstrate strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlinesProactive Problem-Solving : Identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements through analytical thinking and a solutions-oriented approachCollaboration & Curiosity : Foster strong working relationships across teams and functions, thriving in a fast-paced, international environmentInitiative & Self-Motivation : Take ownership of priorities and deliverables, working independently to see tasks through to completionWhat We OfferAt GWI, you’ll find meaningful work, visible impact, and a culture that empowers you to do your best.
