Duties as Alternative Provision Teacher Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual learning needs Create a safe, inclusive environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional well-being Work closely with support staff and external agencies to meet pupils’ holistic needs Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as required Encourage resilience, independence, and social skills development Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues Ideal Alternative Provision Teacher Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience teaching pupils in alternative provision or SEMH settings Strong knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional challenges Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations Excellent communication and organisational skills A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Why Step Teachers?
