EON Utility Solutions Apprentice – Barnsley Location: Barnsley, New Depot 1, Unit 6b Shortwood Business Park, Barnsley, S74 9LH Job Overview We're looking for EON Utility Solutions Apprentices to join our Lighting & Grid team as part of our UK Energy Infrastructure Solutions business. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while earning qualifications over a four‑year period. Role EON Utility Solutions Apprentice – Power Engineering Cable Jointing and Street Lighting Installation, Service and Maintenance. The role is hands‑on, requiring work in site‑based environments including public highway and construction sites. Qualifications A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C / 9-4 (or equivalent) including Maths, English and Science. A real interest in engineering shown by relevant work placements, studies, hobbies or projects. A passion for safety and PPE requirements. Team‑oriented with the confidence to work independently when required. Applicants must have completed the minimum school‑leaving requirements and be 18 or older. Formal Training & Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering – Distribution & Transmission. Level 3 Power Distribution Engineering Cable Jointing. Level 2 Technical Training and NVQ Highways Maintenance Operative. Level 3 Technical Training & NVQ Highways Electrician. Benefits 26 days holiday + bank holidays.
