Dean Close Foundation are looking to appoint a new Catering General Assistant to join our Catering Department. This role is a zero hour position, working during school hours, mornings and evenings, and weekend work as required , and we are offering a pay rate of £12.21 per hour. The primary role is to support the Catering Manager and wider catering department and to assist in the provision of a professional food service to the pupils and staff at the school. Other roles and responsibilities include: Assisting at service times, in an efficient and approachable manner Completing and maintaining regular training, such as Health & Safety, Allergen & Food Hygiene Adhering to the highest standard of safety, cleanliness and professionalism by: Reporting any inaccuracies, concerns, potential risks, accidents or incidents of fire, theft, loss or damage to your line manager Reporting any suspected safeguarding issues to your line manager or Safeguarding Lead Ensuring efficient clearing of all dirty crockery, cutlery, etc. and maintain all areas to the highest possible standard of cleanliness Loading and unloading the commercial dishwasher; ensuring all tableware and equipment are clean, dry and stored back in the correct place Stock rotation to ensure all perishable stock is in-date, and shortest dates are used first Ensuring kitchen & service areas are kept clean and tidy Assisting in the correct recycling/disposal of all waste Ensuring the correct uniform is always worn while on duty Establishing and maintaining friendly and professional relationships with colleagues, pupils, parents, suppliers and Foundation staff Ideally, we would like to appoint a candidate an experience catering assistant who has a Level 2 in Food Safety and Hygiene qualification, however, we would be able to provide training for this for suitable people.
