Support Practitioner (Driver) Join to apply for the Support Practitioner (Driver) role at Cornerstone. We are looking for new colleagues to join our team in the Motherwell and Wishaw area. We offer permanent contracts for 20‑30 hours per week, with relief opportunities for those seeking flexibility. Responsibilities You’ll play a huge part in making a difference in the lives of young people and adults with disabilities and additional support needs in the Motherwell and Wishaw communities. The majority of your time will be spent out in the community supporting people with their hobbies and activities. Activity clubs, swimming, gym, bowling, cinema and pub outings Support to attend college courses Confidence around water for regular swimming sessions Daily living tasks – appointments, shopping, meal planning, cooking, housework, finances, medication, personal care About You We recruit on values and transferable skills, so you don’t need previous experience or qualifications as a Support Worker. A caring and compassionate attitude The ability to work well in a team Good communication and organisational skills A positive attitude with a willingness to learn The ability to cook Confidence in the use of computers A driver with a full UK manual driving licence is essential, as the people we support use their own mobility cars and drive often. We will pay you for your training and fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualifications and your yearly SSSC registration fees. Shift Patterns Our team delivers support between the hours of 0830‑2100, 7 days a week, including sleepovers. Weekends and public holidays form part of your rota on a rotational basis, but we aim to only have you working every second weekend. Shift length can be anything between 4 and 8 hours, depending on what suits you and the person you will be supporting. If you are successful, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and must be willing to work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. You will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment.
