The GDP is an on-the-job learning experience that helps you grow and develop into areas you find interesting, with opportunities to work on meaningful projects and collaborate with industry leaders.About The OpportunityOur Water and Environment Business Unit focuses on River Engineering and Flood Risk Management solutions, including flood defence structures, weirs, gates, sluices, flood storage reservoirs, natural flood management, habitat creation, hydrometric gauging facilities and fish passes. The Water Catchment Management team comprises more than 400 staff in the UK and Europe, with reach into the Middle East, Australasia and America. Projects focus on flood risk management for the Environment Agency and other Local Authorities, delivering sustainable environmental solutions through integrated catchment management.As a Graduate Hydrologist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering projects for clients such as the Environment Agency, SEPA, water companies and major infrastructure providers. Your workload will be varied and may include identifying environmental flow targets for water companies, designing river restoration schemes, or using modelling software to map flood risk and protect homes from flooding. You will have exposure to a wide range of projects, with support to grow in areas that interest you.The start date for this role is September 2026.ResponsibilitiesThe role involves contributing to projects within the Water Catchment Management team and supporting delivery for clients in the UK and beyond.
