Job Summary Permanent | Full Time An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic Paediatric Neurology team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. We are inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for a full‑time Consultant post in Paediatric Neurology, with a special interest in epilepsy. This role is primarily based at Sheffield Children's Hospital and the Ryegate Children's Centre, offering a stimulating and supportive environment for clinical practice and professional development. The successful candidate will join a supportive neurology consultant team, contributing to acute and general neurology (via a consultant‑of‑the‑week model), outpatient clinics, and regional tertiary epilepsy services—including pre‑surgical evaluations. While expertise in epilepsy is preferred, other subspecialty interests will be considered in line with service needs. Interviews expected to be held on Friday 23rd January 2026. About You MBBS or equivalent MRCPCH or equivalent Recognised higher specialised training programme or equivalent in paediatrics with Higher Specialist Training in Neurology Good clinical experience in Paediatrics and Paediatric Neurology – GMC registration Main Duties of the Job Work with the Trust's management team in liaison to optimise clinical and other resources to provide a high level of care and meet national and local targets. Take part in the training programme for undergraduate and post‑graduates. Participate actively in local, regional and national audit and research as appropriate. Support CPD and professional development of consultant colleagues. Provide on‑call consultant cover and cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
