Position Personal Assistant needed to support a young girl to access the community. HU4 Area. 2 hours term time, 4 hours school holidays. Further Information A PA is required to support an 8-year-old girl with learning disabilities, sensory processing disorder, and challenging behaviour. She has no sense of danger. The girl is very outgoing, funny, and has a good sense of humour. PA would need to access social activities at home and in the community with the young girl. She is wheelchair user on outings, and due to fatigue and lack of sense of danger, the PA must watch her closely. The main duties involve providing companionship for outdoor activities such as parks, farms, Asda, McDonald's, etc., and supporting her at home with crafts, sensory play, iPad, and quiet time. Responsibilities Provide companionship and support for outdoor activities (e.g., visiting parks, farms, Asda, McDonald's). Assist with crafts, sensory play, and iPad use at home. Support the girl during outings, ensuring safety while accounting for her lack of sense of danger and fatigue. Be kind and able to handle challenging behaviour. Requirements Experience or ability to care for a child with learning disabilities and sensory processing issues. Willingness to work 2 hours term time and 4 hours during school holidays. Ability to assist with a wheelchair and manage the girl’s lack of sense of danger. Successful Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (cost borne by local authority/employer).
