£33,835 - £38,661 per annum, plus flexible benefitsTwo year fixed term - 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday)Who We AreThe award-winning Lee Valley Regional Park stretches an incredible 26 miles along the leafy banks of the River Lee, from Ware in Hertfordshire, through Essex, to the Thames at East India Dock Basin. The park provides a unique 'natural' corridor on London’s doorstep and provides a vital refuge for wildlife. It contains a variety of landscapes and open spaces to enjoy including the internationally important wetland sites that form the Lee Valley Special Protection Area and Ramsar site, Sites of Special Scientific Interest, industrial heritage sites, nature reserves and leisure venues.Overview of the Conservation TeamThe Conservation Team plays a key role in protecting and enhancing biodiversity across the Park. They advise colleagues on issues such as protected species legislation, habitat management, and ecological best practice, working closely with Rangers, Property and Planning teams, and leisure venues to deliver the Authority’s biodiversity duty.The team also collaborates widely with regional partners to deliver conservation initiatives. Currently made up of a Conservation Manager and a Conservation Officer, the addition of this new role will strengthen their capacity to:Support officers and external partnersDeliver capital and grant-funded conservation projectsManage and analyse ecological dataExpand the public events and engagement programmeWhat does the role look likeIn this role, you will work both independently and as part of the Conservation Team, engaging with colleagues across the Authority to help deliver the Lee Valley Biodiversity Action Plan.
