Go back Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Practitioner Psychologist (B7-B8a Development Role) The closing date is 19 December 2025 The post holder will contribute to the delivery of service provision across all treatment pathways including outpatients, the enhanced treatment team, and flexibly, when needed, day care. They will be joining the service during an exciting period of service development and transformation with the scope to therefore develop specialisms within the field. They will receive clinical supervision from AEDS Principal Clinical Psychologist and will work closely with AEDS psychological therapies team. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical supervision for more junior members of staff (qualified and trainees). The post holder will also be expected to provide psychological assessments, formulations, therapeutic interventions (individual and group), and consultation to support people with complex presentations and needs; this is with a view to ensuring soon access to assessment and evidence based psychological therapy. There is also an expectation to contribute to the generic work of the team to support with optimising patient care where needed. To act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005). To be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures and legislation. To carry out comprehensive psychological and cognitive assessments and formulation, plan implement and evaluate delivery of psychology interventions and consultations to support people with specific needs. To actively involve people in developing and agreeing their own care plan, to act as an advocate and ensure that there is proper regard for their dignity, choice, self-esteem, racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences. Person Specification Qualifications Doctorate in clinical or Counselling Psychology or other relevant HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist (specific requirement as per advert) qualification or equivalent Experience Experience of working with people from across the lifespan with a range of mental health issues and cognitive profiles Experience across a range of psychological models including systemic, behavioural and individual therapeutic Candidates should demonstrate experience of working with the relevant care group Band 8a - Experience of supervising assistant and trainee clinical psychologists Band 8a - Demonstrable post registration/clinical experience and competency relevant to this care group Band 8a - Experience of contributing to clinical practice/service development/project work Band 8a - Demonstrable interest/skill in a relevant specialist area Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
