Overview The Children and Families Department takes a strengths‑based approach to working with each other, children, young people and families, and our partner agencies. This ‘Nottinghamshire Approach’ is complemented by an exciting opportunity to join the Hucknall Family Hub Team in Ashfield District. As we expand our service offer from supporting children aged 0‑5 to now include children and young people aged 0‑19, SEND 25 years, we are looking for passionate and experienced individuals to join our growing team. As an Early Years Specialist Practitioner, you will line‑manage and lead Early Years Practitioners ensuring the delivery of high‑quality evidence‑based interventions to support children’s development, school readiness and overall health and well‑being. Key Responsibilities Line‑manage, lead and support the development of the Family Hub Early Years Team within an identified district/locality, by providing mentoring, supervision and appraisals of Early Years Practitioners. Advise on and be accountable for the coordination, planning, delivery and evaluation of safe, stimulating play and learning opportunities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality evidence‑based school readiness programmes for children 0‑9 years, meeting the needs of individual children, especially those at risk of developmental delay. Actively engage and prioritise expectant parents with children under the age of 3 following evidence and guidance requiring earlier engagement with the most disadvantaged families in line with Nottinghamshire’s Best Start Strategy. Lead, chair and facilitate Early Years Team meetings, staff development and training opportunities, ensuring a strong, cohesive, highly skilled early years team. Monitor the allocation of work within the locality to support effective and efficient use of resources to meet defined and responsive operational plans. Essential Requirements Relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification. To hold 5 GCSEs at level A*-C (including English) or equivalent and proven ability within a previous work setting. Working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Ofsted Welfare Standards in relation to early years. A minimum of five years’ experience of working directly with children and families with children under the age of 8. Experience in a supervisory/management role. Knowledge and understanding of the Family Hub model. Full driving licence and use of a car (unless registered disabled).
