Responsibilities Report directly to the Ground and Water Service Line Director and work with the leadership team to drive strategic growth objectives. Drive growth via the Ground and Water Sector Leads. Build strategic relationships with key clients and track strategic opportunities. Lead complex bids and represent WSP at business development events and raise the Ground and Water team’s profile. Build internal business relationships and strengthen existing links across the WSP business. Lead projects technically and commercially, typically in a Project Director capacity. Develop and implement the Business Development Plan for Ground and Water, in conjunction with the Service Line Director, Service Team Leads and Sector Leads. Prioritise accounts and sectors to align with revenue targets and allocate appropriate key client interface to drive new and emerging account growth. Monitor the discipline pipeline, assess key performance and health indicators, and support the dissemination of best practice in sales pipeline management and improvement of pipeline quality. Lead and upskill the team to develop client development skills, encouraging them to build strong trusted advisor relationships. Develop and implement Business Development reporting and communication structures. Support key client interfaces in account planning and management, client engagement, and in working with the WSP Proposal Management Team from capture planning to bid delivery. Be responsible for developing a Communications and Marketing Plan for BD activities, including planning and approvals for event budgets and thought leadership. Produce high quality market-facing collateral to support client engagement. Oversee client engagement across existing and emerging key accounts. Promote and drive client feedback and support key client leaders in resolving client care issues. Measure progress across agreed KPIs using a data‑driven approach. Senior Leadership Team Responsibilities Be a safety leader and promote wellbeing, fairness and inclusion. Work collaboratively with the wider business, supporting Leadership initiatives. Support other Leadership Team members by communicating issues or opportunities outside of your scope. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Ground and Water service offering and related Earth and Environment Services. Represent Ground and Water across the WSP Business and externally. Create a positive and engaging Ground and Water team environment. Success Criteria Business Development – internal and external. Project work – fee earning. Management – people, driving growth. Qualifications Relevant technical degree e.g. chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, or environmental science. Working towards or prepared to work towards Chartership / Professional Qualification (e.g. QP) with a relevant institution. Ability to travel.
