Project Manager Flood Defence / Civils Project: Derby Flood Wall / Flood Defence Scheme Location: Derby, East Midlands Employment Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive + package (DOE) Company Overview Our client isa well-established and highly respected civil engineering contractor, delivering complex infrastructure and specialist civils packages nationwide. Due to their involvement in the Derby Flood Wall / Flood Defence Scheme, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take full control of their package of works and support the successful delivery of this critical infrastructure project. This role will be instrumental in pushing the project forward on programme, managing teams and sub-contractors, liaising with key stakeholders and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and commercial control are maintained at all times. Role Overview As Project Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of the scope of works on the Derby Flood Wall scheme. You will act as the key point of contact on the ground, managing the site team, sub-contractors and liaising with the client, main contractor and local stakeholders. This is a hands-on, site-focused role requiring strong leadership, technical understanding of civil engineering works and excellent planning and coordination ability. Key Responsibilities Take full responsibility for management of works on the Derby Flood Wall Project Manage site teams, supervisors, engineers and sub-contractors Produce and manage programmes, short-term lookaheads and daily planning Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards Manage RAMS, permits and all HSEQ documentation Liaise closely with the client, main contractor, consultants and stakeholders Coordinate materials, plant and labour requirements Monitor and report on progress, risk and programme Ensure all works meet environmental and regulatory compliance Support commercial functions including variations and change control Attend site and progress meetings and represent the company professionally Key Experience & Requirements Proven experience as a Project Manager / Site Agent / Contracts Manager within civil engineeringExperience delivering civil engineering, highways, infrastructure or heavy civils projectsStrong technical knowledge of: S278 works Temporary works Groundworks & civil engineering Drainage Reinforced structures SMSTS (essential) CSCS Black or Gold (essential/preferred) Temporary Works Coordinator / Supervisor (advantageous) Strong planning and organisational skills Experience working to NEC4 or similar contracts Excellent leadership and communication ability Full UK driving licence Experience working in environmentally sensitive environments is highly desirable.
