Senior Management Accountant

Butler Rose is currently recruiting a Senior Management Accountant for a great employer in East Cornwall. The role is within the shared services team and will take responsibility for the management accounting provision, leading and mentoring a team of accountants. Key duties will include: Managing a team of management accountants, including recruitment, coaching, setting objectives, and conducting regular appraisals Liaising with internal and external auditors to support smooth audit processes and ensure all documentation is in order Working closely with site-based teams to assist with annual budget planning and year-end statutory reporting requirements Providing technical accounting guidance and support to colleagues across the Shared Services function Leading or contributing to process improvement initiatives and project-based work to enhance operational efficiency Developing and refining KPI dashboards and performance reporting across all Shared Services Centre departments Overseeing intercompany transactions to ensure charges are processed accurately and within agreed timescales Reviewing key accounting entries such as accruals, payroll journals, and prepayments to ensure accuracy and compliance Approving urgent or manual payments and reviewing weekly supplier payment runs for completeness and accuracy Ensuring month-end procedures are completed on time and maintaining effective relationships with site finance teams Carrying out reviews of monthly profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, and preparing full sets of accounts where required for business review Verifying reconciliations completed by the team and assisting with wider balance sheet integrity and control The successful candidate will be a formally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with people management experience.
